Spring is a time when most of the wild animals in our area begin to reproduce and create the next generation of pest animals. Squirrels breed during both the early Spring and late Summer. Squirrels that reproduce near your home will only bring forth more and more squirrels each year. Squirrels damage houses and sheds, rip up lawns to store food, and dig up seeds in gardens. Each litter of new squirrels will usually yield 3 to 8 offspring. The baby squirrels will live with the mother for up to 12 weeks. Once they venture out, they will want to build their own nests and hideaways. This means that soon, there will be more squirrels infiltrating attics, checking out chimneys, and scoping out sheds. Don’t let wildlife take over your home.
