No one likes the smell of skunks. The last thing you would want is a skunk near or burrowed in your home. Skunks are a terrible nuisance for any homeowner. They eat almost all of the garden fruits and vegetables. They also destroy lawns looking for insects. Skunks dig under foundations and decks, which can damage them or leave an odor to mark their territory. Skunks are the second most common carrier of rabies in the US; raccoons being the first. Skunks are generally nocturnal, so seeing them in the middle of the day can be a sign of rabies. The spray of skunks is thick, oily, and smells horrid. It is difficult to remove from clothes, skin, walls, and just about any household furniture. If it gets into the eyes of people or pets, it can cause pain and temporary blindness.
