Last month, a 14-second clip of a pizza-carrying rat in NYC went viral, with over 8 million hits. On Tuesday, October 20th, a raccoon was spotted running up into a tree with a slice of pizza from the trash. Events like these are cutesy for the media, but they allow people to see how easy raccoons can become a problem.
Raccoons are expert climbers, swimmers, hunters, and scavengers. They are well built for dense forests, grassy fields, and urban jungles. Raccoons can open doors and windows, go through doggy doors, and knock over trash cans. As the weather gets colder, raccoons may look for new places to eat and live. Raccoons can very easily get into your home in a variety of ways.
If your home is invaded by these crafty pests, call a licensed professional to remove them safely, and humanely. Not all professionals will get rid of pests humanely, but we at New York-New Jersey Wildlife Removal do.
