Mice and Rats

white-mice Sometimes people can mistake rats for mice, or vice versa. While both pests can be unwanted in your home, there are a few differences. Mice are generally half the size of a rat when they are both fully grown, with a length of 20 cm (counting the tail). Rats grow to about 40 cm. Mice and rats both can be white, brown, or gray. Mice are not black, but rats can be. However, rats usually have dirty or soiled fur that will leave grease marks on objects they brush against. Both animals are nocturnal in nature, and generally live in colonies. A rat will have a more curved nose shape, whereas mice have a more sharp, triangular nose. Rats and mice both can squeeze through holes about the size of a dime, but will gnaw it to make it wider. Rodents are confirmed by the CDC to carry over 35 diseases. They also can add to the development of childhood asthma. Rodents have a kill-or-be-killed mentality, and if cornered will bite and claw to fight back. They both chew wires, insulation, plaster, and can damage the integrity of your home. Whatever pest you have in your home, we are here to help. Our trained professionals will track the rodents and remove them. We then take precautions to keep them from coming back We will even clean up after them.
