Rabid Cat Found in Edison, NJ

While we do not remove cats and dogs, we feel that it is important to put this information out there. At the end of November, a rabid cat was captured. This is the 13th instance of rabies in Middlesex county this year. The cat was stray, and its health had been deteriorating for some time before it was brought in.
Cases like this are strong reminders that you should not let your cats roam. Roaming cats can come into contact with other animals and contract a number of diseases, including rabies. Keep cats indoors, and do not leave unattended dogs in your yard. If you do take your dog outside, keep it on a leash. Keep your pets’ rabies shots up to date. Do not leave food outside for your pets, as it can attract other animals. If you or a pet is bitten or scratched by a wild animal, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water. If the wound is open, contact a vet or physician immediately.
We specialize in removing squirrels, raccoons, and other pests in the New York New Jersey area. For a complete inspection and evaluation please contact us or call us at 718-227-7227 and we will be happy to make an appointment at your convenience. We do not remove cats or dogs.
