The Woodchuck

Standing Woodchuck“How much could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”

Woodchucks, also known as groundhogs, are a species that are both celebrated and unwanted. They are most well known for groundhog day where we celebrate them in hopes of predicting when spring will start. However they are a nuisance any other day of the year for homeowners that have a yard or garden.

Woodchucks are a species that dwell underground. Woodchucks burrow in an area and create a dirt mounds around the entrance of their burrow for a sense of security. They are very unlikely to travel far from their den, especially if there is young in the burrow. Woodchucks can wreak havoc  on a garden. A woodchuck will eat ripened fruits and dig up seeds, ruining your garden. Their dens have proven to be of little danger to humans and other animals. Because they will continue to pile the dirt around the entrance of their burrow as it continues to expand. These burrows are an unsightly nuisance and a safety hazard.

We at NJ NY Wildlife however are able to safely remove them from your yard. Our trained professionals will come to your home for an evaluation of your property at your earliest convenience. We will identify your woodchuck problem, trap and remove for you, then will repair the damage. Call us and get rid of your woodchuck problem.
